Karen Ramstead:
Karen has the distinction of running purebred Siberian Huskies in Iditarod. Siberians are slower, but what they lack in speed they more than make up in enthusiasm and beauty. Karen has run Iditarod four times, finishing twice. She also shows her Siberians dogs competitively in the national and international show ring. She has several show dogs and one show champion on her 2004 Iditarod team.

This was Karen’s first year of feeding Eagle Ultra Power. She fed Power in the summer and Ultra just before the heavy training of the fall. “I can’t believe the difference.” “When I reached Nome many commented that my team didn’t look like they had just finished a 1,000 mile race.” During the race, one vet commented to me, “your dogs are disgustingly healthy”. “I sent too much food out on the trail. I was amazed at how well the dogs did on just dry food and flavored water. I did snack on lamb fat and fish, but I fed just dry Eagle Ultra Power as their main source of nutrition.” “Actually several dogs gained weight during the race.” “Stools were the envy of any musher throughout the race.”
